Tool Catcher
The Tool Catcher is fitted to the bottom of the Logging Plug and is used in electric line logging operations. The Tool Catcher can be retro fitted to most RMSpumptools Logging Plugs, but is usually supplied integral to the plug.
Prior to logging, wireline crews usually make a weak point on the electric line at the rope socket above the logging tool to create a first-to-break point. If a heavy overpull is required on retrieving the Logging Plug, the Tool Catcher will latch the rope socket prior to the electric line parting, thus saving the logging tool from falling to the bottom of the well.
Wireline Hammer
The Wireline Hammer is a means of jarring down on the Logging Plug to verify that proper seating has taken place in the seal bore. The Wireline Hammer is secured to the slicklline above the Logging Plug, at a measured length above the rope socket, equal to the desired running depth of the logging tool. When the Logging Plug reaches the seal bore, it will remain in position, allowing the logging tool to continue downhole until the Wireline Hammer reaches the Logging Plug.
In higher angled wells, a weight bar may also be suspended off the bottom of the Logging Plug to guide and pull the plug into position.
