Another Industry 1st for Packer Penetrators
Continuing with our near exclusive North Sea market share for Packer Penetrators and Wellhead Connectors, our split-phase packer penetrator has been successfully deployed and installed in the North Sea.
Systems have successfully been deployed in North Africa, South America, China, Cuba, and now in the UK North Sea, indicating how the system is able to prove its worth not just in low-spec benign wells, but also in the more demanding, challenging applications.
This is the split phase pod or packer penetrator system, commonly used with RMSpumptools concentric shroud/can systems, where annular space restricts the use of a single mandrel penetrator. A series of design improvements have been made to the system including test ports (allowing the connections to be tested in the field) and new seal arrangements to further improve reliability.
The lower-side of the system can still be factory moulded to the MLE and the topside may be pre-spliced to the upper ESP cable offline. This means that when the system comes to be installed, all that needs to be done is to feed the lower-side legs through the bottom of the can hanger, then make up the connections above. No splicing is required in the field and considerable time is saved.
