The Pitscurry Project
The Pitscurry site is organised by The Pitcaple Environmental Project (PEP), a charitable organisation in Inverurie, Scotland. It provides training and support for adults with learning or physical disabilities, and is currently being developed through the use of sustainable energy technologies, with an aim to create living landscapes that enhance the benefit for their service users and the wider community of Garioch in Aberdeenshire.
Our office is located close to the Pitscurry site, so this presented the perfect opportunity to volunteer time to help out at a local community project. 15 employees from the Aberdeen site attended the volunteering day and worked tirelessly to paint wooden cabins, perform gardening work to remove netting from the site’s garden, and filter through a pile of pallets.
“The workforce was joined by a few of our service users throughout the day, mostly for the more social side of things or in a supervisory role. It’s always lovely to see our guys conversing and joking with others, and even though they were not keen to physically join in perhaps, they definitely enjoyed the banter.
“I would like to say a huge thank you to all involved from RMSpumptools for their time and generosity, and we hope to see them again next year.”
